Real purpose of knowing Combinations & Formations in BaZi

A lot of people is confused what is the real purpose of knowing the combinations or formations (合,局）of a BaZi chart.

Yes, some combinations when occurred might means bondings, and etc.

But the real purpose is to know how these combinations and formations affects one’s Day Owner‘s strength (日主); especially during the initial phase of determining whether one is having Strong, Weak, Extremer, or Follower Day Owner strength.
